Everyday.

One of the things that I learned from my mom is that you have to clean everyday for your house to stay in order.  Lots of people recommend this, Martha Stewart to Marla over at FlyLady.  Everyone has different ideas of exactly what is important (Martha finds necessity in sorting and junking mail daily and Marla is a stickler for shoes), but all in all the theory is the same.  Do stuff daily and ultimately life is easier.....in regards to cleaning.

So everyday I make the beds, wipe down the kitchen and bathroom counters, unload and load the dishwasher, fluff the couch pillows, run a load of laundry and I SHOULD, SHOULD, SHOULD do something to my floors, but don't.

What is on your daily to do list for keeping your house in order?  What makes you feel like the house and family run more smoothly when complete?

Here is where I admit how crazy I am.

1. While the girls are eating breakfast at the bartop, I unload/reload the dishwasher and wipe down countertops. I can talk to the kids and clean at the same time!

2. After the girls leave for school, I sweep, then swifter every hard floor surface. I mop every two days. I vacum the living room daily, and rotate between downstairs and upstairs for the rest of the house.

3. At lunch time, I generally fold a load of laundry.

4. Thirty minutes before leaving to pick up kids, I clean all toilets and wipe down all bathroom countertops in all the bathrooms. I fully clean one of the three baths each day.

By the time the kids are home, I have generally finished cleaning, and they promptly trash it the minute they walk in the door! Ha!

I am super crazy, and I rotate these in at least once a week.
1. Baseboards
2. Dusting EVERYTHING
3. Cleaning grout lines
4. Windex windows

I know I have a sickness. But I have a hard time working when there is disorder around me. One of the hazards of working from home, I guess!
